Have you ever stopped to consider the journey of your favorite garment? From trendy beginnings to a potential end in a landfill, clothing often contributes to a growing environmental crisis. This realization, coupled with our own personal journeys, became the catalyst for EarthWeavers™.
Manar Chehab's (Founder – CDO) story, like so many others, is woven with threads of resilience and determination. Growing up in a conservative society with limited opportunities for women, she faced significant challenges in pursuing her dream of becoming a fashion designer. But obstacles couldn't extinguish her passion. Manar prioritized her education and graduated in Kuwait in 2017. Soon after, she launched her own luxury fashion brand, Kimono_by_Manar, which she successfully ran for three years.
Rami Saad (CO-Founder - /CEO), on the other hand, brings a wealth of experience and strategic expertise to EarthWeavers™. A seasoned business consultant and innovation management expert, Rami boasts over 17 years of experience. He's also a passionate Startups Mentor and professional trainer, with a proven track record of guiding businesses towards success. This background perfectly complements Manar's creative vision, ensuring EarthWeavers™ operates efficiently and responsibly.
Driven by a passion for minimizing the fashion industry's environmental footprint, Rami spearheads EarthWeavers™ commitment to upcycling, ethical sourcing, and minimizing waste throughout the entire production process. His strategic mind ensures we translate our vision into a sustainable and scalable business model.
Life took an unexpected turn when the pandemic forced both Manar and Rami, a married couple, to relocate back to Lebanon. It was during this challenging time that they volunteered with environmental and social causes. This experience opened their eyes to the marginalization of women artisans and a critical shortage of skilled tailors in the market.
Witnessing the mountains of discarded clothing and the high unemployment rate among Lebanese women and refugees ignited a fire within them. Coupled with the fear of losing the rich cultural tradition of handcrafts, Manar and Rami knew they had to find a solution that addressed these pressing issues simultaneously. That's how EarthWeavers™ was born.
EarthWeavers™ is more than just a clothing brand; it's a movement. We combine our love for fashion with a deep commitment to environmental responsibility and social impact. At the heart of our mission lies the empowerment of rural Lebanese women artisans.
Through our innovative training program, "Threads of Transformation," we empower women, regardless of their background, to become skilled artisans. This comprehensive program equips them with essential tailoring skills, upcycling techniques, and entrepreneurial knowledge. We transform their mindsets, fostering self-sufficiency and enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Our artisans breathe new life into discarded textiles, creating exquisite and unique pieces. Each garment tells a story of resilience, cultural heritage, and a commitment to a more sustainable future.
Join us on this journey! Explore our collections, discover the stories behind the women who create them, and embrace a new era of luxury that celebrates both style and social responsibility.
Together, we can rewrite the narrative of fashion, one exquisite upcycled garment at a time.
